Rooted in Medikunta

A local primary school rooted in place, language, and shared responsibility

At MPPS Medikunta Thanda, learning begins with questions and grows through care. We sustain a safe, joyful space where every child is seen, heard, and valued, and where curiosity becomes the engine of growth. Our place-based approach ties literacy, numeracy, and essential skills to Medikunta Thanda landscapes, language, and crafts, so students see themselves reflected in their learning. Small class sizes and patient, relationship-centered teaching give teachers time to know each learner. We partner with families and elders to weave environment, arts, technology, and physical development into a holistic, collaborative journey that prepares children to observe, inquire, and contribute with integrity.

Frequently Asked Questions

01

What is MPPS Medikunta Thanda's educational philosophy?

We ground learning in Medikunta Thanda’s landscape, language, and culture. We nurture curiosity, resilience, and the dignity of every child. Our aim is to develop habits of mind—observing, inquiring, collaborating, and innovating—so children grow with confidence and compassion.

02

How are classrooms and daily learning organized?

We keep small class sizes and a deliberate pace so teachers know each learner well. Our days start with Inquiry and Orientation, followed by daily learning cycles that combine differentiated instruction, collaborative work, and guided practice. We use ongoing assessment and feedback to keep families informed, while literacy, numeracy, environmental learning, ICT, arts, and physical education are integrated through project-based and play-informed activities.

03

What services and programs do you offer for Grades 1–5?

Foundational literacy and numeracy with reading readiness; environmental science and local ecology; introductory ICT; arts, music, and physical education; and after-school enrichment. Parental engagement is built in through workshops, regular communications, and collaborative planning.

04

How does enrollment work and what happens at baseline?

Admissions begin with conversations about your child’s needs, followed by a baseline assessment in literacy and numeracy. We plan curriculum with families, invite you for a campus visit, and provide orientation. A complimentary baseline assessment is offered to new applicants, along with a starter learning pack and family orientation to support the transition.
